So many times, Zelkovas aren't properly pruned during their early years (training pruning) and become a rat's nest of scaffold limbs and branches to the point of looking like a Bradford Pear (yeesh). But, the Dalton Public Works landscape crew is very skilled and proud (rightfully so) of their pruning of street trees. This is what a Zelkova should look like. Take note. I just wish all tree care staff were this skilled and thoughtful.

Kay Evanovich, the city arborist for Brookhaven was there and Christie Bryant was a newcomer joined us. Heidi had reached out to potential members at the Wednesday Tree Ordinance forum put on by Georgia Arborist Association and Georgia Urban Forest Council and so we have added 6 women to contact
This is our official first meeting after finally getting our nonprofit status and electing officers. Now we're ready to get to work. Education, Membership, Finance, Communication & Marketing committees have been formed. We've been a small group so far but hope to expand greatly through the next year.
